The Red Earth Sanctuary

Set on 10 acres of protected California desert land, The Red Earth Sanctuary is a healing ecology where the desert itself holds space for transformation. Our retreat is intentionally designed to strip away noise, reconnect people to what is essential, and offer profound opportunities for psychological, emotional, and spiritual restoration through ketamine-assisted psychotherapy delivered with the highest clinical standards.

Our Vision

Recalibration, not escape

We envision a sanctuary where ketamine-assisted psychotherapy is integrated with somatic practices, community rituals, and contemplative reflection. Every aspect of the retreat, from walking meditation paths to fire circles, from private shaded nooks to communal meals, is crafted to support deep healing, self-discovery, and meaningful connection.

Accessibility

We are committed to widening the door. Access to transformative care should never be determined solely by cost, race, disability, or systemic barriers. Our healing justice track exists because repair requires action, not sentiment.

Cultural Integrity

Each track holds its own philosophy, culture, pace, and communal life. Clear boundaries between tracks preserve psychological safety and cultural integrity, so every participant is held in a container built for them.

Intentional Care

Our vision is not escape but recalibration: a place where people return to the world with more clarity, presence, resilience, and truth. Restored, empowered, and deeply connected to themselves, each other, and the life around them.

The Land

Ten acres held by the desert

The land is quiet, expansive, and held by the desert's capacity to return people to what is essential. Walking paths are designed for different energy levels and accessibility needs. Private shaded nooks welcome post-session integration. A central ceremonial space is shared across tracks at designated times.

Track One ยท African-Centered Healing & Liberation

Sankofa Sanctuary

For African Americans seeking culturally grounded, politically conscious, and spiritually rooted healing. This track is not simply inclusive. It is explicitly African-centered.

Drawing from African philosophy, Black psychology, liberation frameworks, and diasporic spiritual traditions, healing here is understood as both personal and collective. We address racialized trauma, intergenerational wounding, and the psychological cost of navigating white-dominant systems, honoring the reality that high-achieving Black individuals often carry trauma that is unseen, unnamed, and untreated.

Philosophical Foundation

  • African-centered psychology
  • Ubuntu, Ma'at, Sankofa, and Nommo principles
  • Liberation psychology and Black feminist thought
  • Somatic memory of racialized stress and resilience

Distinctive Experiences

  • Ketamine sessions framed within African-centered meaning-making, with preparation and integration explicitly naming race, power, grief, and joy
  • Daily Afrocentric embodiment practices: movement, breath, and rhythm-based grounding
  • Ancestral reflection and lineage work through guided storytelling, memory, and symbolic ritual
  • Evening fire circles focused on collective witnessing, affirmation, and restoration
  • Integration dialogues exploring success, isolation, visibility, wealth, and survival in Black professional life

Food & Atmosphere

  • Chef-prepared meals inspired by African and African-diasporic culinary traditions, reimagined with local desert ingredients
  • Communal dining as a ritual of connection and affirmation
  • Soundscapes featuring African and diasporic instrumentation during select practices
  • Privacy, depth, and cultural fluency throughout the container
Track Two ยท Open Healing

SahraKora Retreat

No single cultural framework dominates this container. The focus is on personal insight, nervous system regulation, and meaning-making, with respect for diverse identities and life experiences. This track appeals to those seeking depth without dogma, structure without rigidity, and clinical excellence paired with contemplative practice.

Distinctive Experiences

  • Individualized intention-setting for ketamine sessions
  • Mindfulness-based yoga and breathwork emphasizing self-attunement
  • Guided desert solitude periods for reflection and journaling
  • Creative integration workshops: art, writing, and music-based reflection
  • Optional small-group processing for relational themes such as grief, transitions, burnout, and identity

Food & Atmosphere

  • Seasonal, plant-forward meals with optional protein selections
  • Quiet dining options for participants who prefer less social engagement
  • Neutral, minimalist aesthetic emphasizing calm and spaciousness
Track Three ยท Community Access & Healing Justice

Ngurra Maadhi Restoration Collective

For marginalized individuals and communities whose access to psychedelic-assisted therapy has historically been limited by cost, race, disability, or systemic barriers.

This track is subsidized through donor support, institutional partnerships, and cross-track funding. It is grounded in healing justice, recognizing that trauma is not evenly distributed, and neither should access to care be. This track is not framed as charity. It is framed as repair.

Distinctive Experiences

  • Shorter retreat duration with focused therapeutic intensity
  • Ketamine-assisted therapy contextualized within structural trauma, survival, and resilience
  • Group-based preparation and integration, emphasizing collective support and normalization
  • Practical skill-building for post-retreat sustainability: grounding, emotional regulation, and peer support
  • Connection to ongoing low-cost or community-based mental health resources

Food & Atmosphere

  • Nourishing, culturally responsive meals designed for warmth and familiarity
  • Emphasis on accessibility, psychological safety, and dignity
  • Community agreements centered on mutual care, consent, and respect

Safety & Care

A licensed medical and clinical framework

Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy at The Red Earth Sanctuary is offered within a licensed medical and clinical framework. Every participant moves through medical screening before arrival, is prepared and monitored by licensed clinicians on site, and is supported through structured integration long after the medicine session ends.

Before You Arrive

Comprehensive medical and psychological screening with our clinical team, preparation sessions to establish safety and intention, and honest conversation about whether this work is right for you at this time.

While You Are Here

Licensed clinicians monitor every medicine session. Integration therapists and support guides remain on site throughout your stay. Private shaded nooks hold you after each session.

After You Leave

Structured integration support, practical tools for grounding and emotional regulation, and connection to ongoing care in your home community so the work continues beyond the land.

Access & Giving

The Ngurra Maadhi Restoration Collective is sustained by donor support, institutional partnerships, and cross-track funding. When you give, you are not offering charity. You are participating in repair, extending transformative care to communities who have carried the most and received the least.
